Ifeoma Ajunwa
Associate Dean, Professor of Law, Founder of the “AI & The Future of Work” Program, Emory University
Professor Ifeoma Ajunwa, JD, PhD, is an esteemed law professor and acclaimed author specializing in the intersection of law and technology. At Emory University, she serves as the Asa Griggs Candler Professor of Law and the founding director of the AI and the Law Program. Starting January 2024, she will also be the associate dean for projects and partnerships at Emory Law. Ajunwa's notable book, "The Quantified Worker," published by Cambridge University Press, reflects her expertise in law and technology. Her forthcoming publication, "The Oxford Handbook on Algorithmic Governance and the Law," in collaboration with Jeremias Adams-Prassl of Oxford University Law School, is set to release in 2024. Her research primarily focuses on ethical governance, privacy, and discrimination issues related to workplace AI and automated decision-making technologies. A respected public intellectual, Ajunwa frequently contributes op-eds to major publications and her insights are sought after by media outlets and at international conferences. Her current visiting fellowship at Yale Law School’s Information Society Project further underscores her engagement with legal aspects of technology.

Chris Mattman
President, and Co-Founder, Mattmann.AI, LLC
Chris Mattmann is the inaugural Chief Data and Artificial Intelligence Officer (CDAIO) at UCLA, a first of its kind position in the UC system. In this role he will collaborate with key stakeholders to develop the strategy and roadmap for data and AI innovations and establish practices to monitor the value of the portfolio of AI investments, ensuring that ethical and responsible practices are followed. Before UCLA, Mattmann was the Division Manager of the Artificial Intelligence, Analytics and Innovative Development Organization at NASA JPL. He was the Chief Technology and Innovation Officer and reported to the CIO. He recently finished a nearly 24 year career at JPL where he conceived, realized and delivered the architecture for the next generation of reusable science data processing systems for NASA's Orbiting Carbon Observatory, NPP Sounder PEATE, and the Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) Earth science missions. Mattmann's work has been funded by NASA, DARPA, DHS, NSF, NIH, NLM and by private industry and commercial partnerships. He contributes to open source and was a member of the Board of Directors at the Apache Software Foundation (2013-18) and was one of the initial contributors to Apache Nutch, the predecessor to Apache Hadoop. Mattmann is the progenitor of the Apache Tika framework, the digital "babel fish". Mattmann contributes to TensorFlow, Google’s machine learning platform and just published a book on Machine Learning for TensorFlow. Mattmann is an expert in Artificial Intelligence. Mattmann is the Director of the Information Retrieval & Data Science (IRDS) group at USC and Adjunct Research Professor ("Full Professor"). He taught and has incepted graduate courses in Data Science, Web Search Engines & Information Retrieval. Mattmann has materially contributed to understanding of the Deep Web and Dark Web through the DARPA MEMEX project. Dr. William Casey King, PhD
Senior Executive AI Advisor, Microsoft's Strategic Partnership Team; Principal Investigator, Pentagon’s DARPA; Director and Senior Lecturer, Yale University
William Casey King is the Director of the Capstone Program at the Jackson School of Global Affairs. His research focuses on big data and data-driven policy analyses and solutions. King is a recipient of several grants from the Defense Research Projects Administration (DARPA) including a “big data” grant, as part of the White House’s Big Data Initiative (XDATA), a grant to measure and quantify radicalism in social media (QCR) and was co-leader of a DARPA seedling effort to protect our financial markets from attacks. He has consulted to the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, the FBI, and the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and served as a member of a Connecticut United States Attorney’s Office Task Force assisting with investigation of human trafficking in children. At Yale, he teaches courses on big data and global policies, anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism, anti-human trafficking, as well as “consulting-style” courses with various NGOs and government partners. He is the author of a book on the history of ambition (Ambition, A History, Yale University Press), articles published in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post, a children’s book on the American Civil Rights Movement (Oh, Freedom! Knopf), and a documentary film on the African American painter, Henry Ossawa Tanner, funded through a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. As an undergraduate he studied at Tulane and Harvard Universities, did graduate work in Data Science at University of California, Berkeley, and earned his doctorate from Yale.

Liz Grennan is a Partner in McKinsey's Connecticut office and the global co-leader of Al Trust in QuantumBlack, McKinsey's Al practice. With 20 years' experience as a lawyer and General Counsel, Liz helps Fortune 500 organizations with Digital risk, trust, Al governance, and ethics. Having previously served as the global managing counsel for all of McKinsey's technology practices, Liz brings a wealth of experience as a technology lawyer. Liz also leads our corporate legal department modernization work, including GenAl readiness and tech enablement.
